Dear fNIRS Community,


Please note in your calendars the upcoming fNIRS Conference in London Oct 26-28, 2012. The meeting will be at University College London. The list of invited speakers includes: David Boas, Turgut Durduran, Andreas Fallgatter, Charles Nelson, Gergely Csibra, Will Penny, Frank van Bel, Emmanual Dupoux, and Martin Smith. The abstract submission deadline for contributed papers will be in August. Please watch for details here, and in an upcoming newsletter.

fNIRS Course

There will be a fNIRS course the two days before the conference, for those seeking a detailed tutorial or refresher on the technology. Watch the conference web page for more detailed information to appear later in April (https://fnirs.org/fnirs2012.html).

Call for Papers – Special Issue in Neuroimage

Neuroimage is planning a special issue to celebrate 20 years of functional near-infrared spectroscopy. Submitted papers are due by January 1, 2013. More information can be found here.

Recent Publications

The Nov. 28, 2011, issue of Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society A documents a November 2010 Royal Society Discussion Meeting covering the state of the art in the field of biomedical optics as well as the vision and challenges for the future, and furthermore includes contributions from invited speakers and attendees of the meeting. Compiled and edited by Clare Elwell, Christina Kolyva, Paul Beard, Chris Cooper, Jeremy Hebden and Elizabeth Hillman, the issue is currently free to access.
