fNIRS 2012 Conference

The conference begins in only 1 week. Over 140 abstracts have been contributed and over 250 people have registered.

Formation of an fNIRS Society

The first executive board of the soon to be formed fNIRS Society will meet next week. This executive board will first derive from the conference program committee. Make sure to talk with them to share your ideas on the formation of our society. Everyone’s input is needed to make sure the society is formed in a way to meet everyone’s needs.

SNIRF – Shared NIRS Data Format

Blaise Frederick has been working hard to get input from several stakeholders on establishing a data format to facilitate the sharing and analysis of NIRS data.
A draft specification can be found here.

And a forum for discussing the finalization of this specification has been started here.

Please review the specification and share your thoughts at the forum. Frederick will lead a brief discussion of this format at the fNIRS2012 meeting on Saturday in the lecture hall immediately before lunch.

Call for Papers – Special Issue in Neuroimage

Neuroimage is planning a special issue to celebrate 20 years of functional near-infrared spectroscopy. Submitted papers are due by January 1, 2013. Details are here.
