Optical techniques to measure cerebral blood flow are rapidly expanding the possibilities of non-invasive brain monitoring and complement traditional fNIRS measures of cerebral oxygenation and haemodynamics. Yet, many researchers in the fNIRS community have had limited exposure to these emerging methodologies.
This educational webinar will provide an accessible introduction to two of the most promising optical approaches for measuring cerebral blood flow: Diffuse Correlation Spectroscopy (DCS) and Speckle Contrast Optical Spectroscopy (SCOS). Designed for researchers, students, and early-career scientists with a primarily fNIRS background, the session will cover the fundamental principles underlying these techniques, discuss their strengths and limitations, and showcase representative applications in neuroscience and clinical research.
We are delighted to welcome Dr. Lisa Kobayashi Frisk and Dr. Mitchell Robinson, who will introduce SCOS and DCS, respectively. Following the presentations, attendees will have the opportunity to join an interactive discussion and Q&A with both speakers.
